About default assignees in F-Tag

Learn how a default assignee sends new F-Tags to the person who usually handles that issue.

Written by Angad Singh

A Default Assignee automatically assigns new F-Tags to the person who usually handles that kind of issue.

When an issue is raised, an employee or authority is assigned to the tag based on the type of work or expertise needed. This person is responsible for resolving the issue and is called the Assignee of the tag.

In a facility, the same person usually handles similar issues. Instead of assigning someone manually every time, you can set up a default assignee. This makes assignment faster and more consistent.

You can set a default assignee for a particular issue, sub-issue, department and other factors that are available when you create a new default assignee.

Where to find default assignees

You can see the default assignees set up in your facility in the Default Assignee window in Tag Settings. For help reaching it, see About Tag Settings.

Good to know

  • Default-assignee rules can be based on department or type, so new tags reach the right team automatically.

  • If a tag needs more support, it can be escalated to another tier (Tier 1, Tier 2 or Tier 3) with a comment. The members of that tier receive an email.

  • You can limit how many times a tag is reassigned. See Edit user re-assignments in F-Tag.
