The Kaizen detail view shows the Kaizen's information in full, in 3 fields that are displayed at the same time.
To learn how to open the detail view, see Open a Kaizen after creating it.
Field 1: Implementation field
This field is at the top left of the detail view, and is the first thing you see. Its heading is the name of the Kaizen.
It contains options to move the Kaizen forward during implementation and to attach information to it in various forms. The main options are:
Attach button
Link button
Workflow view
Advance to button
Phases of the Kaizen
Phase sections
Add Link
Drag & drop box
Field 2: Details field
This is the panel on the right side of the detail view. It shows the information entered when the Kaizen was created, and lets you edit it.
Note: this field is the Kaizen's side window, shown in a larger view. Three of the side window's sections move to the left side of the detail view. See About the Kaizen side window.
Field 3: Activity field
This field is just below the implementation field. It is smaller than the others.
It records activity as the Kaizen progresses, such as comments and history. You can think of it as a documentation field: it records the inputs, changes and discussion between users for the Kaizen during its implementation.
Note: you can choose to open either the side window or the detail view when you edit or add to a Kaizen. Both show the same information. The side window shows it in a smaller, scrollable area, while the detail view uses a larger area so you can see everything at once.
Related features
Labels: you can view and edit a Kaizen's labels directly in the detail view and in the quick view (side window).
Project toolbar: the Kaizen project also offers Present (an automatically built PDCA slide deck; use the arrow keys to move between slides), PDF export, RCA Agent → Run RCA Analysis, and Link Docs to link another LeanSuite record (for example an EWO) or an external link.
