What is Daily Standard Work?

Learn how Daily Standard Work shows, schedules and tracks the checklists, audits and SOPs assigned to you and your team.

Written by Angad Singh

Daily Standard Work (DSW) is where you see and complete the activities assigned to you, and where you assign activities to others.

It is the end-user side of Lean Creator. Administrators build templates in Lean Creator, such as audits, checklists, inspections, quizzes, surveys, SOPs, OPLs and assessments. People complete the assigned items in Daily Standard Work.

Activity types

Activity types match the template types in Lean Creator, including:

  • Assessment / Skill Matrix

  • Audit

  • Inspection

  • Kaizen

  • Quiz

  • Survey

  • SOP

  • Other

This is what a typical Daily Standard Work dashboard looks like:

The DSW menu has six options:

  • Overview

  • Schedule Calendar

  • Kanban Board

  • My Templates

  • Schedule Dashboard

  • DSW Reports

The main ones are described below.

1. Overview

The Overview dashboard gives a high-level view of activities in the facility: activities assigned to you and your team, plus facility and asset activities.

You can filter activities by type and by status (In Progress, Upcoming, Overdue and Submitted). To see activities on specific dates, use Schedule Calendar.

2. Kanban Board

Shows activities as cards in four columns: Overdue, In Progress, Upcoming and Submitted. You can view your own, your team's and your facility's activities.

3. My Templates

Lists the templates available to you, whether built in Lean Creator or cloned from the Marketplace. From here you can Preview or Start a template.

Open the Marketplace tab to clone ready-made templates such as 5S, Gemba Walk, Forklift Inspection or LOTO.

4. Schedule Dashboard

Use this to assign (schedule) a template to users, a role or an asset, with a recurring frequency.

Good to know

  • Assigned items also appear on your Schedule Calendar. You receive an email reminder 30 minutes before an item is due, and overdue items show in red.

  • You can complete activities in the web app or the mobile app.

  • While completing a template, you can create an F-Tag, Kaizen or Suggestion directly from the Submit Template page.

  • The DSW Reports page shows completed vs pending activities, flagged items, and submissions by user.
