Build your facility's area hierarchy in Asset Management so departments, lines, workstations and assets appear in every module.
Who can do this: Admins with access to Admin Settings → Asset Management.
Why this matters
Your departments, lines, workstations and assets appear as dropdown options across LeanSuite: Kaizen, Suggestions, Tags, Lean Creator forms and Daily Standard Work. You can also schedule checklists directly to an asset so its history stays with the machine.
The hierarchy
Department / Area → Line → Workstation → Asset (up to 4 levels).
Add items
Use the facility switcher (top left) to choose the facility.
Click the gear icon and open Admin Settings → Asset Management.
Click Add and create your departments first, then lines under each department, then workstations and assets.
Enter an asset number for each asset. It's required.
New items show up in the other modules' dropdowns straight away.
QR codes
From Asset Management you can generate QR codes for departments, lines, workstations and assets. When someone scans one with the LeanSuite mobile app, a new tag opens with the location already filled in.
Loading a large list
If you have many assets, send your list in Excel to your LeanSuite onboarding team and they'll bulk-upload it for you.
Reorganizing
If you restructure your departments or lines, old values are deactivated rather than deleted:
Existing records such as older Kaizens keep showing the old value.
New records only offer the new values.
Good to know
Each facility has its own hierarchy.
You can rename field labels to match your site's terms, for example "Department" to "Location". Contact [email protected] for help.
