Start a time study from a video and a few process details, then choose which of the people the AI detects should be tracked as operators.
Create the study
Go to Lean Creator → Time & Motion Study and click + New Study at the top right.
Name the study and choose the shot type that matches your video, for example a wide area or a close-up of a workstation.
Optionally enter the takt time.
Add a process label.
For a new process, add notes describing which steps are value-added and which aren't. This helps the AI's first attempt.
Upload the video.
Important: Use exactly the same process label every time you study the same process, because the AI uses your certified studies with that label as a reference.
Large files are compressed automatically.
Tip: You can keep working while the video uploads and processes. You'll get an email when the study is ready.
Select operators
The AI detects everyone who appears in the video and shows each person with a picture and a short description.
Uncheck people you don't want to track, such as someone walking past or sweeping.
Rename operators, for example to their operator number. If you're comparing several cameras, use the same names in each study.
Merge duplicates: if the AI shows the same person twice, merge them so all their time is counted together. You can also delete a duplicate and reassign its activities to the right operator. No tracked time is lost.
Then run the analysis. A progress indicator shows how far along it is.
Troubleshooting
A study won't open: go back to the Dashboard, open Time & Motion Study again, and refresh.
You want to remove a test study: use the trash (delete) icon on the study's card.
