Connecting training to the Skills Matrix keeps skill levels up to date automatically. This article explains how to link courses to skill levels, set level criteria, use on-the-job assessments and record training done outside LeanSuite.
Link a course to a skill level
Link a course to a skill and level, for example "Forklift – Level 2".
When someone passes the course, their level updates automatically in the Skills Matrix and on their radar chart.
Level criteria
For each skill, you can define what it takes to move up. For example:
Level 1 → 2: pass a course.
Level 2 → 3 and 3 → 4: apply the skill a number of times, for example on Kaizen projects.
Level 4 → 5: complete a train-the-trainer course.
On-the-job assessments
Build a practical skills assessment in Lean Creator. You can use Create with AI to generate one.
Link the assessment to the skill.
An assessor completes it with the trainee on a tablet.
Record external or on-the-job training
For training done outside LeanSuite, such as a vendor course or hands-on training, you may be able to add a manual training record to the person's profile by choosing the course or skill and entering the hours.
Who can do this: Whether this option is available, and who can use it, depends on your account and role permissions. If you don't see it, contact your LeanSuite representative.
Where to see it
Each person's profile and Training Tracker show completed and pending training, external records and assigned SOPs.
