About Expansion Section
The Expansion section, as the name suggests is used for expanding a facilities resources.
These resources are assets inside a facility that may be required to change or add new ones based on circumstances, production requirements, failure scenarios and other possible reasons.
The expansion section simply lets you add an expansion item with details, an assignee, start date and a due date.
Let’s go ahead and add some expansion items to our kaizen!

Step 1
Add the Expansion section from the available list to the required phase.

Useful Facts!
When a new section is added it appears under the previous section; in this case Action Plan Section.
Step 2
Expand the section by clicking anywhere in the section field, or on the arrow on the right side.
The arrow can also be used to collapse the section.
Initially, there would be no expansion items added as the section has been added for the first time to the phase.
Click on Add New.
Step 3
The add new button will be replaces by various fields to collect information about the expansion section.
Useful Facts!
The process of adding information to expansion plan uses cascading forms. The options in the next field will depend upon the selection in the previous field.

Since the expansion is done in terms of an addition of a machine or smaller asset, the fields in the section correspond to the hierarchal structure of the facility.
It takes in the information of the expansion asset, on workstation in a line inside a department. This way an exact location and documentation of the expansion is available.
Furthermore, there is an assignee added to the expansion project along with an actual start date & end date enhancing the expansion project’s implementation procedure.
Add the information in the field as required.
Step 4
Click on Save when you are finished.
A new expansion card will be created and the add new button will become available again to add more projects if needed.
You can add more expansion items to your kaizen using the method above!
Tips & Tricks
The Workstation & Asset fields allow you to select more than one item at a time.
Step 5 (As per requirement)
You can edit/delete the expansion plan from the expansion card using the options in the top right corner of the card.
You can edit the assignee, date and the plan details of the item.
Click on the cross icon on the top right when finished!
