How to edit due date of a Best Practice?

While changing the due date in a Best Practice, a user needs to attach a reason for the change since it's a resource intensive change.

This reason is then analyzed by concerned authority before granting an approval to change the due date.

Therefore, when user wishes to change the due date of a Best Practice, the process will be directed towards another window which will collect the require information.

Editing a due dates falls under editing the properties information in a Best Practice.

Need A Refresher?

Step 1

Open the Best Practice you wish to edit either in the side window or detail view.


Step 2

Scroll down to the Due Date information field and click on the Pencil icon on the right side.


Step 3

A new window, Request for Update Due Date will show up.

This window will have 4 main fields:

Current Due Date

This shows the current due date of the Best Practice.

Revised Due Date

Let's you select the new revised date you wish to select.

Reason For Revised Due Date

For every change a reason has to be attached. This fields offers a drop-down menu which lets you choose a reason for change.

Useful Tips!

Keeping in mind that best practice is a Kaizen before it gets approved, the settings, features will remain the same as in a kaizen.

The reasons for change can be defined in the Revised Due Date Reasons which is a feature in Best Practice Module.

Comment

This section allows a user to add a comment to augment the information about the reason for change.


Step 4

Enter the information in the fields as per requirement:


  • To change the date, click on the calendar icon on the right side of Revised Due Date field. Select the new date by navigating through the calendar pop up.



  • To attach a reason for date change, click on the drop-down arrow to show the options and choose the appropriate option.


Useful Tips!

Click on the cross icon to clear the reason & attach another reason.

The comment for the change is optional but a new date and a reason is mandatory for the Save option in the window to be activated.


  • To attach a comment to the change, type in the box provided. An inbuilt text editor provides a comprehensive way of explanation or providing essential information for due date change.


The in-built text editor has many options that can let you create a wide range of data ranging from a single comment to an entire formatted article.

Useful Facts!

After a request is submitted for change in due date of a Best Practice, the Best Practice is automatically added to the approval dashboard with all the other Best Practices waiting for approvals.
