Create roles that match real jobs at your site, switch on the permissions each role needs, and assign users to them.
Who can do this: Admins with access to Admin Settings → Roles.
How permissions work
LeanSuite doesn't use fixed access levels. You create roles that match real jobs at your site, such as CI Engineer, Quality Supervisor or Kaizen & EWO Admin, and switch on exactly the permissions each role needs. Users without a special role get standard access, which covers most frontline users.
The LeanSuite Administrator role has every permission in every module.
Create a role
Click the gear icon (top right) and open Admin Settings → Roles.
Click Create and name the role.
For each module, turn on the actions this role can perform, for example view, create, approve, manage settings or manage users.
Add users to the role and save.
Log out and back in
Important: After you add a user to a role or change a role's permissions, the user must log out and log back in before the change takes effect. If a user says a setting such as Kaizen Settings is still missing, this is usually why.
Where roles are used
Daily Standard Work: assign checklists and audits to a role.
SOP and document sign-off: assign sign-offs and approvals to a role.
LMS: assign courses and learning plans to a role, for example for onboarding.
Workflows: control who can move a Kaizen, EWO or tag to the next status.
KPIs and dashboards: control who can see them.
When someone new joins a role, they automatically get everything assigned to that role.
Roles vs skills
Use roles for what someone is allowed to do in LeanSuite. Use skills in the Skill Matrix for what someone is qualified to do on the floor, such as forklift or labeler.
