Create a team and set required skills

Create a Skill Matrix team for a job profile or area, add members, and set the skills, levels and training they need.

Written by Angad Singh

In the Skill Matrix, a team represents a job profile or area. Once you've created a team and set the skills and training it needs, LeanSuite can show who is qualified and where the gaps are.

Before you begin

Make sure your skills exist in the master list (Tool Management).

Tip: You can bulk-add skills, and your LeanSuite team can import a spreadsheet for you.

Create the team

  1. Go to Skill Matrix → All Teams and click to create a new team. You can also use Create New → Team in the top bar.

  2. Name the team after the job profile or area, for example "Dry Press Operators" or "Line 3".

  3. Choose the team lead, and the department or line if relevant.

  4. Add members.

All Teams page in Skill Matrix with search, Filters, Group By, column picker, refresh, Table/List switch and the Team Id, Team Title, Team Type, Pillar, Team Lead and Action columns

New teams appear on the All Teams page, with their Team Id, Team Title, Team Type, Pillar and Team Lead.

Set what the team needs

  1. Add the required skills and the level needed for each one.

  2. Add required procedures (SOPs), trainings and courses.

  3. Click Save.

After setup

  • The team's radar chart compares current and required levels. See Read the radar chart and plan skill gaps.

  • Members see their assigned training and SOPs on their dashboard.

  • Use Clone to copy a team as a starting point for a similar one.

  • Use the as of date to see or export the team as it was on a past date.
