Set savings targets and track imports in Cost Management

Set yearly savings targets by department, and review loss trees, import history and dashboard filters.

Written by Angad Singh

Cost Management helps you set savings targets, see where your biggest losses are, and check what data has been imported. This article covers savings targets, loss trees, import history and filters.

Set savings targets

Set yearly savings targets for your facility and assign them to departments on the Savings Target page. Kaizen savings are then tracked against these targets, and the glide path compares planned and actual savings through the year.

1. Click Cost Management Settings in the Cost Management menu. The settings menu has Savings Target, Process Mappings, Line Profile and Loss Mapping.

2. Open Savings Target. The page lists each target with the columns Year, Savings Target ($), Departments and Action (the ⋯ menu).

3. Click Add New to add a target.

Loss trees and costs

Loss trees turn your downtime, quality and other loss data into cost, so you can see where the biggest losses are. Start a Kaizen directly from a loss. See Add a Loss Tree and Create a Kaizen from a Loss Tree.

Import history

Open Import History to see every data import, whether it was uploaded manually or came in automatically from another system, when it happened, and whether it succeeded. See Check import history in Cost Management.

Filters

The Cost Management dashboard shows totals for Projected Saving($), Closed Project Saving($), Carry Over($), Slippage($) and Variance($), with Search, Filters and two tabs: Hard Savings Project and All Savings Projects.

Important: A year must be selected in the filter. If it is missing, the dashboard shows "Year filter is required. Please select a year from the filter."

Tip: Use the Saving Type filter on the Cost Management dashboard to focus on a particular type of savings, such as hard or soft savings.
