The Cost Management module in LeanSuite is a central place to monitor, analyze, control and act on costs within a facility.
It gives you tools to identify losses, analyze them, track defects and visualize savings. The aim is to improve financial performance with detailed insights and actionable data on cost-related factors.
Cost Management focuses on analyzing defects, both internal and external, from a cost perspective.
How Cost Management works
Cost Management works in two parts: an analysis part and an action part.
The analysis part
Database (the analysis target): a pool of data that you import so it is available for analysis. It has two components:
Internal defects: defects found in the manufacturing process of your products.
External defects: defects reported by customers as real-world feedback.
Cost Management System (the analysis tool): analyzes the data within a date range you set and returns the results as Loss Trees.
The analysis part also returns results for savings, graphs and trends, slippage, and the top losses in the facility.
The action part
Loss Trees (the analysis result): show the main loss-causing areas so you can act on them.
Creating a Kaizen (the action tool): from a Loss Tree, you can create a Kaizen. The loss-causing cause is handed over to the Kaizen module so the team can fix the problem.
Together, the analysis results and the actions give your facility a detailed view of its financial performance and help you improve it over time.
Good to know
The Cost Management dashboard has a Saving Type filter, so you can segment savings data by type.
On the saving target page, you can set target savings at both the department and line levels.
