Kaizen phase sections

See every section you can add to a Kaizen phase, with a link to how each one works.

A Kaizen follows a phase-by-phase approach. Its phases come from the Kaizen's methodology. This article lists the sections you can add to a phase.

Each phase holds the instructions, work details, documentation tools and other data needed to carry out the work and to document it for future reference. You need this data to complete a phase and move on to the next one.

Depending on the type of work, a Kaizen can have several phases. The information and tools each phase needs are added to it through sections.

Sections are small, widget-like building blocks that you add to phases. Each one captures a specific kind of information needed during Kaizen implementation.

To learn how to add sections to a phase, see Add or remove sections from Kaizen phases.

Available sections

You can add the following sections to a phase. Select a section to learn how to use it.

Each section has its own fields and options for adding information to the phase, and so to the Kaizen.

Good to know

  • Admins choose which sections open automatically in each phase when they set up a methodology template in Kaizen Settings.

  • You can also add sections to a Kaizen from More.

  • Custom sections: admins can build their own Kaizen sections in Lean Creator by creating a template with Template Type = Kaizen (for example, a "5 Questions for Zero Defect" or 5W2H form). The template then appears in Kaizen Settings → Add template, and under the More sections of a Kaizen.

  • RCA Agent: from the Kaizen project toolbar, RCA Agent → Run RCA Analysis can generate 5 Whys, 4M1D and fishbone analyses and push the results to the Action Plan.
